Tailored therapy and assessment services for educational settings
School is a crucial part of a child’s life. That’s why here at Child Psychology Sussex, we offer specialist therapy support for children in school, helping pupils across all years, from reception through to college, thrive emotionally, socially and academically.
Whether you’re an independent (private) or state school, specialist provision, or a college, if you educate children aged 0 -18, then we can support you. Therapy can be provided to individual students and their TAs or Tutors, in keeping with the student’s Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or Personal Education Plan (PEP). Group work can also be provided to students, for example on anger management and emotional literacy.
Our services:
· Individual psychological assessments and observations
· One-to-one therapy sessions in line with EHCP or PEP plans
· Group interventions (e.g. emotional literacy, anger management)
· Reports with clear recommendations for staff and families
No CAF is required and referrals can be made directly with parental consent.
In-school therapy for behaviour, emotional and mental health needs
We can provide services to schools to assist with identified children who are presenting challenging behaviour or other concerns. We can help with:
· Challenging behaviour
· Anxiety or trauma responses
· Attachment difficulties
· SEN-related emotional regulation difficulties
· Behavioural and attendance challenges
Our assessments verify or inform diagnoses and help staff implement targeted strategies. Following an assessment, we provide a full written report with formulation, recommendations, and an optional follow-up consultation.
